Environmental Policy

1. Purpose

NI Private Speech Therapy recognises the importance of protecting the environment and is committed to conducting speech and language therapy services in a way that minimises environmental impact and promotes sustainability.

2. Policy Statement

  • Use resources efficiently and reduce waste wherever possible.

  • Recycle paper, packaging, and other materials where facilities exist.

  • Minimise paper use by using secure digital communication and electronic record-keeping where appropriate and permitted under data protection regulations.

  • Reduce travel-related carbon emissions by:

  •   - Offering teletherapy and remote consultations where suitable.

  •   - Planning home or school visits efficiently to minimise unnecessary journeys.

  • Purchase products and materials from ethical and sustainable sources where possible.

  • Conserve energy by using low-energy equipment and turning off devices when not in use.

 

3. Responsibilities

NI Private Speech Therapy is responsible for ensuring that day-to-day activities reflect this policy and that environmental considerations are integrated into professional decision-making.

 

4. Review

This policy will be reviewed annually or sooner if there are changes in professional practice, technology, or environmental guidance.
